The Myles Osgood Scholarship Fund and Annual Rail Jam
The Scholarship Fund has closed for the 2018-2019 season but will be back accepting submissions in Fall 2019 for the 2019-2020 season.
The Myles Osgood Scholarship Fund, established 2019, is a need-based scholarship created by the Osgood family to benefit individuals who don’t have the resources to participate in snow sports, whether it be lessons, lift tickets, gear, competition or coaching. Below you will find information about Myles’s legacy, the annual rail jam that will be held in his honor and the scholarship application process.
Myles, a Minneapolis native and G-Team snowboard instructor at Hyland Hills, passed away on March 30, 2018 while on vacation in Hawaii. He will be remembered for his positive energy, kindness and humility and for spreading light and good vibes to everyone around him.
Myles was our son’s snowboarding coach at Hyland. Our son had never snowboarded before and struggled playing other sports due mainly to anxiety associated with his Autism. Myles’s compassion, warm heart and fun attitude created an amazing environment for our son as well as the other kids in his group. Our son found a passion for snowboarding and Myles was a huge part of that. We will remember Myles for many things, but more than anything we will remember Myles for the role he played in changing our son’s life.

The Osgood family started this scholarship to honor Myles and to share the passion and joy that Myles got from snowboarding. The scholarship application is private and awards are at the discretion of the Osgood family.
The Upper Midwest Snow Series will host a benefit rail jam each winter, donating 100% of the proceeds to the scholarship fund. Donations can be made here.
Scholarships will be awarded in $500 increments.
The Osgood family looks forward to reading your submission. The submission form will go live again in Fall 2019.
